January Who’s DDM?

A new year means a fresh start. Let’s hope that 2009 will be a year of positive growth.

Hubby, the three Wee Ladies, and I have moved to a new town. We made it alive, despite the freezing rain that pelted us most of the way. We are in a smaller place compared to our old house and finding a place for everything has been tough. We totally purged before we left. I didn’t think we had that much stuff. Most of it has ended up down below in the crawl space. I keep sending Hubby down with more stuff. No more clutter.

And so begins a list of several New Year’s Resolutions.

1. Update my iPod. I think that now that we are living in a place where physical activity is mandatory and snow is in abundance, I should probably get rid of songs like Piece of Me, by Britney Spears and add ones like Don’t Eat the Yellow Snow, by Frank Zappa.

2. Limit Timbit Consumption: You would not believe the number of boxes of Timbits we have gone through over the past few weeks. All you have to do is look at my ass, which is one big Timbit. We will certainly size down in that area.

3. Shower Regularly: I read in last month’s In Style magazine that Gisele showers at night and then puts her hair in a damp bun. When she gets up the next morning, all she does is wash her face, brush her teeth, and apply some very light make up. And then she lets her hair fall in nice big curls from keeping it up all night. I’m not even remotely Gisele-like, but I can at least set a routine to stay clean. I’ll give it a shot.

4. Moisturize: Madge and her Palmolive followers have got to have hands like sandpaper if they soak in it. I do and my hands are rough and dry. My feet as well, but those don't soak in dish soap. I have gone all Posh Spice and now cream up my hands and feet. I put socks on at night, but not gloves. If I keep it up, I will have feet as soft as the toilet paper puppies. I hope my feet aren't soft and furry though. I will save that for my unshaven legs.

Maybe I should declare that 2009 be the year of consistent shaving. Nah.

5. Write a book: I have thought about writing a book and I think I will give it a go this year.

Those are a few things I am going to strive to achieve. Some are easy to do, others not so much. I tried to give up coffee yesterday. I drank three cups of white tea today and have had a killer headache since yesterday. The tea didn't help my withdrawl.

Maybe I should add Acetaminophen Addiction to my list.

I look forward to 2009: The Year of New Adventures, starring DDM as herself. We have already started the year off with a fantastic move for our family to a place where we hope to thrive and grow. I feel it happening already and we have only been here for three days.

All’s I’m sayin’s all.
